After having to cancel the Aviation Museum of Kentucky’s summer Aviation Camps in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Aviation Museum of Kentucky is happy to announce that camps are back for this summer!
Registration is now open on thier website, Reserve Your Spot Here! Parents can register for one of 4 camps in June and pay online. Camp dates for 2021 are June 14-15, 17-18, 21-22 for ages 10-17 and June 24-25 for ages 10-80. Parents and/or grandparents of campers are encouraged to attend this camp!
The Aviation Museum of Kentucky is also partnering with the Bowling Green Warren County Regional Airport to conduct 2 camps there on July 13-14 and 15-16.
All camps will follow the COVID-19 guidelines in effect at that time. In addition, we are limiting each camp to a maximum of 24 campers to allow for social distancing in the museum and in the flight simulator room. As in past years, one of the highlights of the camp is the opportunity for each camper to receive a flight lesson from a licensed flight instructor in a light aircraft. This year, instead of 3 campers per flight, they will only take 2 campers at a time on an out and back flight to a nearby airport.
Should you have any questions about the 2021 Aviation Camps, please contact Camp Coordinator Bob Jones – BobJones@AviationKY.org
If your child has attended this camp, let us know about your experience in the comments below. If they have attended another camp in the Lexington area, let us know about that too so we can check into it.
