Located among stone fences and rolling hills in the Bluegrass. Equus Run Vineyards is nestled on 35 acres in the heart of central Kentucky’s Bluegrass Region. This is a great place to enjoy a picnic, take in a game of croquet or bocce, or take a stroll through their gardens or along the scenic South Elkhorn Creek.
Equus Run Vineyards ages their wines in either stainless steel tanks or in oak barrels. The largest tanks in the wine barn hold 2500 gallons and their smaller tanks hold 1500 gallons of wine. Each of their oak barrels holds 59 gallons and will produce approximately 25 cases of wine. Wines are aged between 6 and 18 months depending on the wine. Wine is filtered and blended with other wines or transferred straight into the bottles. Equus Run Vineyards produces over 12,000 gallons of wine each year.
