Today kicks off the second annual #GtownEats week in Georgetown. We covered Love your Downtown in February and introduced you to some great shops in historic downtown. This week, we are going to share with you several restaurants. As a “newbie” to Georgetown, having relocated in June 2018, I am still working my way through the local restaurants.
#GTownEats Week is an 8-day culinary celebration featuring local Georgetown restaurants, bakeries and drinking establishments. Customers are encouraged to stop in for breakfast, lunch and dinner at any of the participating #GtownEats businesses for exclusive meals and deals – only available during this designated week.
- Fava’s of Georgetown – Beer Cheese Burger: Quarter-pound burger topped with Fava’s homemade beer cheese and bacon, on a grilled bun with lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion and mayonnaise, served with side and drink. ($10) 2 dinner entries with salad or slaw, choice of potatoes and appetizer to share. Appetizer excludes cheese curds and combos. ($25)
We will then progress to Galvin’s on Main early in the week.
- Galvin’s on Main – Buffalo Poppers: Buffalo chicken and mozzarella cheese wrapped in a crisp, crunchy shell. Served with a side of slaw and ranch or bleu cheese. ($5.49) Fish Tacos: 2 fried fish served on a bed of slaw, topped with a homemade special sauce in a corn tortilla. Served with chips and salsa. ($7.99) Gertrude Dog: Jumbo hotdog topped with chili, fries, bacon, beer cheese and jalapeños. Served with homemade chips. ($5.99) Personal thin crust Pizza: BYO! Maximum 2 toppings. ($6.99)
Then we will introduce you to the “new kid on the block,” Spotz Gelato.
- Spotz Gelato – Free waffle cone with any large scoop. Thursday, March 28 – 6-8 pm: Preview Night for Charity benefiting Old Friends Farm. 100% of sales will go directly to Old Friends Farm. Friday, March 29 – 12-9 pm: Grand Opening! Starting March 29, open 12-9pm, 7 days a week.
