You’ve heard the phrase, “don’t judge a book by it’s cover?” Well, H Clark Distillery may have you wondering when you drive up and see their small building. They may be small, but they are mighty.
“Our goal is not to make a lot of spirits. Our goal is to make a little bit, but make it really good.”
H Clark Distillery creates hand-crafted Tennessee Bourbon, Gin and Black & Tan Whiskey one batch at a time – one small batch at a time. I encourage you to stop in here and learn the history and visit with Heath Clark if he’s onsite as they have a very interesting story about how they came into being. Of course, the other staff can tell you the story too, but Heath lived it and was instrumental in getting the distillery legal. (He’s actually an attorney by trade – ask him where his office is located!) In August of 2014, H Clark Distillery became the first legal distillery in Williamson County in over 100 years.
Tours are complimentary and Tastings are $15/person.
H Clark is a member of the Tennessee Whiskey Trail and Masters & Makers Trail. Along the Masters & Makers Trail, visit with masters of making wine, beer, and spirits. Complete a tour and tasting at 4 of the 5 Masters & Makers locations and return your completed passport to the Visitor Center in Franklin for a special prize. (I received a t-shirt and Christmas ornament.) Locations included on the trail are: Arrington Vineyards, H Clark Distillery, Leiper’s Fork Distillery, Curio Brewing and Mill Creek Brewing Co.
