Were you born in Kentucky or did you move here?
I was born and raised in Louisville, KY!
What is your favorite thing about Louisville and Kentucky in general?
My favorite thing about Louisville is that it has all of the attributes of a “big city” but you still get the small town vibe. I don’t ever feel overwhelmed by the size of Louisville and I can still go out somewhere and without a doubt, run into someone I know.
If someone were visiting you from out of town, where would you absolutely have to take them in Kentucky?
Churchill Downs! It is by far one of my favorite parts of Louisville! I would also want to take them to Mammoth Cave, The Corvette museum, The Louisville Slugger Museum, and the falls of the Ohio! (Depending on what they were interested in of course).
Where is your favorite place to go in Kentucky as a family?
Lake Cumberland! My family has a camper on the Lake and we absolutely LOVE heading down there in the summer and cruising around on the boat!
Tell me a little about your family?
My husband Corey is from Monticello Kentucky, a small town in the south of the state! We have three daughter – Ariana (5), Chandler (2) and Sawyer Kate (6 months). There is never a dull (or quiet) moment in our house!
What inspired you to start your blog?
It actually took me way longer to start than it should have. I was so scared of the unknown and honestly had fear of rejection or people talking about me. I hate that that was the case! But I was the first one in my friends group to have a baby! As a new mom, it was so overwhelming looking at all of the baby products and deemed “must have” items. I wanted an honest opinion about what works and what was just a luxury item! My husband and I were younger and although we had established jobs, we had a very small budget. So I love being able to share budget friendly items that are truly “must haves!”
Tell me more about what readers can expect on your blog?
I try to share the everyday journey of parenthood! I share some home decor, some fashion, gift guides! But I try to share things I know people can use and are interested in.
What’s in store in the next year on your blog?
I had hoped to post more family travel!! I hope to eventually be able to do that, but for now it is mostly sharing how to entertain your kids at home and cozy fashion staples!
What’s the most challenging part of having a blog?
Finding the time to write often! It is much easier for the to share stories on Insta, and let people witness the chaos first hand, haha!
What is your favorite thing about having a blog?
Meeting new people! Having a blog has connected me to so many amazing people that I know I would not have had the pleasure of meeting otherwise!
What else would you like people to know about the blog?
I love hearing feedback!! If you are looking for something in particular and want me to help you find it, I am 100% all about it. I love a challenge and shopping is my forte, so putting these two together make me very happy! haha
Moving away from the blog for several questions, I’d like to get to know you a bit better. What is your educational background and where did you go to college?
I got my Bachelors Degree at EKU and then my Masters Degree from University of Cincinnati! I am also a Behavior Analyst!
What’s your no-fail go-for-it motivational song?
It’s a Great Day to be alive by Travis Tritt. It will instantly put me in a great mood and get me moving!
What’s the one thing in life you’re so glad you did?
Went to college at EKU! If I hadn’t gone there, I would have never met my best friends and never would have met my husband! I am beyond grateful for the experiences and friendships I made there (and the education I received as well 😉 )
Who’s the one person who changed your life?
I don’t necessarily know that she changed my life, but my momma is my driving force. She never lets me settle and is always pushing me beyond where I am comfortable going. I am so thankful for her knowing me the way that she does, so that I can continue to reach new limits!
What gives you hope?
What’s the best mistake you ever made?
I accidentally slept through a class in college that would have sent me straight into my teaching degree. I missed a test and the teacher would not let me make it up. I ended up failing the class, and changing my major! I know that was the universe telling me I was heading in the wrong direction, and while at the time I was devastated- it made me a better person!
If you could choose any magical power, what would it be?
I would love to fly! Traveling makes me so happy, so being able to get places quickly would be amazing!
What’s one thing you’d change about yourself?
My need to be liked! I hate that I care so much what people think. I have gotten worlds better at this with age, but it was really hard on me in my younger years.
What is the one thing most people don’t know about you?
I am pretty much an open book! I share a LOT, but not a lot of people may know that I went to an all girls high school! People from outside of Louisville always think that is so crazy, haha!
