I was in Tennessee over New Year’s which means bowl games and the need to find a great place to watch them. Happened upon a sports bar setting with family style seating, a cool aesthetic and great food – Toot’s Restaurant – A Tennessee Original.
Toot’s has a great vibe and is a family friendly atmosphere. You can sit at the bar or choose a family style seating arrangement at a table or high top. Their staff is energetic, enthusiastic, fun and attentive. The menu seems endless with a variety of salads, wings, fried foods (check out the frog legs and if you love onion rings – you need to try these!), ribs and so much more.
The food was served hot, fast and fresh. My plate of chicken tenders and onion rings left no room for dessert, which means I am just going to have to go back another time to try one. The restaurant was well staffed and efficient, my drink was never empty. The staff was attentive but not overbearing or pushy.
Toot’s offers great comfort food in a casual atmosphere. The decor is fun and inviting. Great place to watch a game any day of the week. The crowd is fun but not overly crazy. This place is loud – if you plan on a conversation, ask for a table on the perimeter – especially if it’s a local team playing!
Overall, a great place that I can’t wait to go back to. Felt a bit like I was sitting in the Cheers bar where everyone seemed to know everyone. Came in a tourist and left with a few new friends.
By the way, they offer daily specials. On Monday, you can get a plate of boneless buffalo fingers and fries for $5.99 for lunch and $7.99 for dinner. Tuesday is a half pound burger and fries all day for $5.99. Check out their website for the other daily specials.
